About Charlene Hammersen

by | Nov 11, 2018

Charlene Hammersen is a native of the Northeast Georgia Mountains. Her path to yoga was not an easy one. After years of struggling with addiction, Charlene entered a recovery program and found solace, refuge, stability, and peace of mind in her yoga practice. She studied biology at Armstrong Atlantic State University and operated an apothecary and green cleaning company in Atlanta with her childhood best friend. She enrolled in a yoga teacher training in 2017 with Yoga Energy School that took place on Yonah Mountain, where she was caught at a crossroads; She decided then to leave her career and dedicate her life to yoga and meditation. Her studies took her to Aegina, Greece, to complete a second teacher training and to assist her teachers, Vie Binga and Tim Ganley. Charlene is certified in Hatha Vinyasa, Ayurveda, Breathwork, and Meditation. She also completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training at Lift Yoga Studio in Alpharetta, Georgia, and owns Yonah Yoga, a yoga studio in Sautee, Georgia.
