About Tony Galis

Tony Galis began studying Asian internal arts in 1993.  In 1999 he began studying Chinese martial arts, qigong, Daoist meditation and the tea art.  Since that time he has oriented his life around the study and practice of these arts. He is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist at Thrive Integrative Medicine in Athens, GA, a unique medical clinic and educational institute developed and owned by Tony and his wife, Jana.  Tony has served as Assistant DIrector of the Confucius Institue at Augusta University (Medical College of Georgia), an adjunct professor at Augusta Universtiy and has supervised clinical rotations for medical students from AU, as well as the University of Georgia.

Tony has studied with many incredible teachers from all over the world and continues to focus deeply on his own progression in his arts.  He teaches qigong in Athens and around the Southeast, and also teaches for the Holden Qigong online platform that reaches students all over the world.  Aside from qigong, Tony teaches a complete Taijiquan (Tai Chi) curriculum.
